THE VAUDE-VILLAINS
FRISKY FRIDAYS – 8:15 PM Ovations Piano Bar
Threetime MAC-award winner Dawn Derow has delighted in New York and across Cape Cod for 15 years. Known for her vocal range and eclectic repertoire, the Bistro award winning artist has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, 54 Below, Birdland, the Laurie Beechman Theater, Green Room 42, and most recently, The Cutting Room. A regular guest of the Cape Cod Symphony, the Eastham, MA native and Boston Conservatory graduate returns to her beloved Cape Cod during the summertime to sing at Provincetown’s Tin Pan Alley, the Post Office Cafe, and Crown and Anchor. She has also sold out the Pheasantry in London two years in a row.
Whether she’s singing jazz, pop, rock, folk, or opera, Dawn weds artistry with technique, making her a “nearly flawless cabaret offering” (Cabaret Scenes).
Her debut show at ACT2PV, “Because I Can (Porque Yo Puedo)” with musical director David Maiocco will feature songs from past solo shows such as “Blues In The Night”, “Quando Me’n Vo'”, and some of the Spanish classics that Eydie Gormé made famous with Los Panchos. You will see highlights from Legit, House That Built Me, My Ship: Songs from 1941, Women’s Work, Eydie Gormé Tribute and more. Dawn will also play original material, accompanying herself on guitar.
Derow is thrilled to share what Bistro Magazine called “an hour of some of the most beautiful music ever written” with a new audience in an equally beautiful setting.
