La Cucaracha is the Mexican premiere of a new two-act play that throws political absurdity, magical realism, and big human truths into a blender — complete with an orange predator named “Uncle Sam,” a fearless June bug, and a brave human leading the resistance. Yes, really. And it’s a blast!! In fact, this play previously opened the PlayGround Fringe-style San Francisco Free-Play Festival at Potrero Stage in August 2025, where it set a record: “La Cucaracha had the highest attendance of any show in Free-Play Festival history!”

Directed by Alfonso Lopez and written by J. Lynn Jackson, La Cucaracha offers meaty roles, big laughs, real emotion, and fearless storytelling. Performed in English. Teen & adult roles available.
