David Sabella is a multi award-winning performer, an internationally recognized voice teacher, and an author in the art of Cabaret, as well as Contemporary Commercial Music voice techniques.
He is known on Broadway as an original cast member of CHICAGO, the Musical (1996) and, in classical music, as an international countertenor, in opera houses and concert halls across the US, Europe, and South America, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He is a winner of the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition, and is historically cited as “one of the progenitors of the American countertenor sound.”
He is also a two-time MAC Award winner (2022: Major Artist; & 2024: Best Drag/Impersonation) for shows developed and performed with long-time music director, Mark Hartman.
He is also co-author of the book “So You Want to Sing Cabaret” (Bloomsbury, Rowman & Littlefield 2020), and is featured in “So You Want to Sing CCM” (Bloomsbury, Rowman & Littlefield 2020) as one of twelve international pedagogues to have put forth a methodology for teaching CCM voice techniques.
